Scumbag Sony burdening people with more free games

PlayStation Plus subscribers can treat themselves to last year’s wonderful Joe Danger 2: The Movie on the house (normally $14.99) as the gorgeous, expanded Excitebike-alike makes its way to the service’s giant list of free stuff thanks to a March 12 PlayStation Store update.

Along with this update also comes a huge sale on a huge mess of Ubisoft titles, with even deeper deals for Plus subscribers, and some Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World DLC. I’m eyeing I Am Alive, personally. Because Sony now has an online store accessible via my computer’s browser, I’m even more tempted to put I Am Alive into my cart along with the free Joe Danger 2 I’m compulsively pocketing without even turning my system on. This is great for Sony, but a problem for me, as I’m finding myself unable to keep up with all the free games PlayStation Plus provides. It’s like Steam hording but instead of spending a pittance, I’m spending nothing.

When will Sony stop burdening consumers with excellent titles that are effectively free to play for the cost of a subscription? Not any time soon, it seems. PlayStation Plus is more vaunted than ever. For now, I must endure.
