For many gamers, the PSN downtime was an excruciating wait. However, while we’ve had our online services back for a while, Japanese PS3s still lack connectivity. Sony has issued a statement on the matter, claiming it needs to make a few more adjustments before going live.
The update was sent after two weeks without any communication from the company. Sony also provided no potential return date, not even an estimated window.
This is obviously very unfortunate news for Japanese PSN users, and there’s been quite a bit of concern over the time-limited Sonic Generations demo. If the PSN’s not back before July 12, then Japan won’t get to try the game. Except for the tiny minority of Japanese gamers who bought Xbox 360s. I can only imagine how smug those guys must feel.
