Japanese indie dev event BitSummit returns for 2014

More vocaloid Japanese karaoke man in space!

Vocaloid Japanese businessman singing karaoke “Unforgettable” in space is the best. Thank The Orb. The above video comes from last year’s inaugural BitSummit, showcasing some of the cool, weird games shown off there, including an announcement from Pixel, the makers of Cave Story

The event began last year as a way to bolster and bridge Japan’s scattered indie scene. It’s coming back to Kyoto this March (7-9), engorged on the blood of last year’s sacrifice. There will be two public days that visitors can attend (500 yen each); developer attendance is free. Musical guests and speakers will also be in attendance.

If you can’t make it out to Kyoto, don’t fret. Our own Dale North will be there covering. And eating a lot of good food.
