Wow. Crazy. The supersized Japanese girl group SKE48 (yes, they’re related to the other girl gaggle, AKB48) is working with Microsoft to push Kinect. And this isn’t just some commercial appearances (though members Rena and Jurina Matsui will be in Japanese commercials for the device), but actual musical performances. Hell, they’re even releasing a Kinect-themed single called “Two Roses.” That’s right. There’s going to be a Kinect song.
At the announcement event held yesterday in Tokyo the duo revealed that they’re actually forming a limited-time group that’s called…”Kinect.” Really. The new Kinect song will be included on their “1, 2, 3, 4, Yoroshiku” single release on November 20th, which is when Kinect will be released in Japan.
Television spots featuring the Matsui girls are scheduled to start airing in Japan today. Microsoft knows no bounds in Japan!
