Japan to be getting Playstation Network points cards

Recommended Videos

Sony is finally going to be releasing Playstation Network cards in Japan, where users can load up a balance on them and use that money for the PSN, just like for the Wii and Xbox 360. Announced back at E3 2006, the cards will be available in 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 yen denominations.

Since this is Japan, you’ll be able to get the PSN card at one of 26,000 convienence stores and at many Post Office ATMs when they come out on the market in June. As of now, there’s no word of marketing the card elsewhere, but my guess would be that it would come out in the US around December or early next year.
