Japan: Order pizza with your Wii in the Catering Channel

Recommended Videos

With the Demae Channel (Catering Channel), your Wii Remote becomes a food remote control!

The new Japanese Wii channel lets you click to order food. Move your little “1 hand” cursor over categories like pizza, noodles, sandwiches, curry, burgers, chicken and just about anything else you can imagine. There’s online visual menus that let you do things like select toppings and save orders. There’s even online receipts for record keeping. Sadly, you’ll have to get off your ass to answer the door and pay for your food with this Demae Channel.

This Wii service is operated by the same firm that operates this Japanese food delivery website, so you’re probably just getting a front end for the site. Regardless, being able to order some Pizza-La from your television is pretty cool. Take it from me: you want the Bomber Quarter, which contains terriyaki chicken, potatoes, shoulder bacon, pork & pepper, fresh seafood, and cherry tomatoes.

Just like this fine pie, I wouldn’t expect this delivery service to hit the U.S. anytime soon.
