Jack the Reaper feels like a long-lost SNES plaftormer

Highly reminiscent of Kirby

It’s one thing to look like a Super Nintendo title, but Jack the Reaper from Dream’s Bell checks all of the right boxes: style, sound, gameplay, and even the opening cinematic feel like the mid-’90s in concentrated form. This work-in-progress Windows title stars a chibi reaper who can change abilities not unlike Kirby. Grab the extensive demo here! You’ll be glad you did.

While there are some pending issues — most notably, the movement doesn’t feel quite right to me — this is worth checking out in its current state and should be worth watching as it progresses further. I’m hoping Dream’s Bell can stick with development, continuing to polish Jack the Reaper into the game it deserves to be.
