Expanding further on Naughty Dog’s lack of plans for the Uncharted series after this year’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, co-director Neil Druckmann told The Sun about the plot of A Thief’s End, “But with the end of this story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake.”

I mean, it is called A Thief’s End.

“We’ve been with this character for so long,” Druckmann said. “He’s at the height of his popularity, so it’s not a good business decision. But I feel like the best way to honor him is to go out on top, to finish his story.” Druckmann notes that Sony owns Uncharted, so the series could continue, but it might have to retreat into prequel territory or continue with new leads, not unlike BioWare is doing with Mass Effect, or what Gears of War seems to be doing with Gears of 4.

That sounds like prime dancing around a dead Drake. Or at least a finally, seriously reformed one. Or, hey, middle ground — maybe he gets maimed or something, sidelining him forever. Nathan Drake’s story ends April 26, then.
