Is FFXIV cross-platform?

The best way to experience Final Fantasy XIV is with a group of friends to share the adventure. The game is available on a multitude of platforms, but does FFXIV support cross-platform multiplayer?

The short answer is yes, FFXIV features cross-platform multiplayer. Whether you’re playing on PC, Mac or Playstation, you’ll encounters players playing across all of those. In other words, if you play on PC and you have a friend who can only play via Playstation, you can easily team up. The same will apply to those who play via Xbox when the game launches on the platform in Spring 2024, just in time for Dawntrail.

While this is an amazing feature, you’ll need to keep in mind that this might change how you interact with others players. For instance, Playstation or Xbox players may be unable to put down their controller in order to answer a question or otherwise respond to chat. Keep this in mind when you’re questioning the friendliness of players you encounter across your journey.
