Irrational Games’ Monster Island pitch will make you sad

It made me sad, anyway. Irrational Games has released yet another one of its long-lost pitches, and this one sounds like it’s worth revisiting — both because the concept is cool, and the technology is now advanced enough to make it happen as envisioned.

Monster Island‘s one-sentence summary is “Rampage meets Black and White creatures in a fully destructible environment.” You get to play as the monster or the human forces during either Greece 400 BC, Europe 700 AD, or Tokyo 1957 AD. Sold yet?

And then the multiplayer is described as Power Stone 2 with monsters. Double sold. This was originally pitched for last-gen consoles, which is hard to imagine. Then-hyperbolic statements from the pitch sound very doable for today’s systems.

I suggest you read the full thing, because my summary could only fit so much.
