IRL Dragon Quest Treasure Chest costs over $4,000

I like Dragon Quest, but there’s no way I’d drop that kind of cash on a treasure chest replica. Whatever would fit in this 365,400 yen ($4,470) 25th anniversary limited edition release from Square Enix would also fit in a $6 plastic storage bin from Walmart. I could just stick some Dragon Quest stickers on that bin and be done with it, and about $4,464 richer.

This chest was first put on sale 20 years ago, says Siliconera. Now Square Enix is bringing this all-wood, 1:1 scale (90 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm) chest back for their most crazed fans.

Square Enix also has other celebratory items. There’s a $100+ anniversary slime and a really cool Roto helmet (about $160) in the mix.
