Investigate stuff with CSI: Hard Evidence on the Wii, 360, and PC

To me, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is a redundant title. I mean, doesn’t “CSI” stand for “crime scene investigation”? That’s like when someone says “ATM machine.” The “M” in “ATM” means “machine,” you dips**t. In any case, that hasn’t stopped CSI from being one of the top rated shows on network television for the past seven or so years, inspiring a number of spin-offs, a board game, and a videogame.

So no one should be questioning Ubisoft’s decision to bring a new entry into the series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Hard Evidence, to the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PC this fall. Players will actively participate in thrilling crime scene investigations, along with their favorite characters from the television show, including Gil Grissom, Catherine Willows, and that other white dude with the badge.

According to the press release, the Wii version will use the Wii remote to navigate through a crime scene, and the Xbox 360 game will allow players to experience cinematic-style graphics. One or the other, people. You can’t have your cake and eat it, too.

Hit the jump for the fancy PR mumbo jumbo, and check out these Xbox 360 screenshots of fancy cinematic-style graphics.

Today, Ubisoft announced that it will be releasing CSI:CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION™ Hard Evidence for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Nintendo Wii™ fall 2007. This release marks the first time CSI fans will be able to play a CSI video game on the Xbox 360 and Wii. Players will be able to use the Wii Remote™ to navigate through a crime scene, or experience cinematic-style graphics on the Xbox 360. The user interface has been completely redone with a console audience in mind, making the game more like the show than ever. The PC version of Hard Evidence will ship simultaneously with the Xbox 360 and Wii.
