Internet thinks Lil’ Wayne more influential than Miyamoto

Whatever this says about society is to be determined, but the Internet has spoken and believes that rapper Lil’ Wayne is more influential than both Nintendo visionary Shigeru Miyamoto and game designer Will Wright.

This coming from TIME’s reveal of “The World’s Most Influential People of 2009” as voted by the Internet. It is, of course, completely accurate. Lil’ Wayne ranks among the top 100, sitting pretty at number 12; Miyamoto breaks the top 100 at 42, with Wright failing to make the cut at 107. Topping the list is 4chan founder, moot.

Miyamoto and Wright were the only two videogame industry folks to appear on the list.

To put this list into perspective, The View — an American daytime talk show, and not even a person — is at number 47. Think about that for a second. Also, think about this.
