InstantAction is closing, Torque in the clear for now

As announced today by Torque director Eric Preisz, InstantAction is closing down. It was an in-browser digital distribution outlet that allowed you to play full 3D games without having to immediately download them in their entirety.

“While we are shutting down the InstantAction.com website and Instant Jam game, Torquepowered.com will continue to operate while InstantAction explores opportunities with potential buyers for Torque,” writes Preisz. “We thank all of our past and current customers for their support.”

In a time where cloud gaming is becoming increasingly popular, and the competition is growing fiercer, it’s sad to see a company go down like this. Let’s hope they can find a suitable buyer for Torque.
