Part two of Ubisoft’s Assassins Creed III developer diary series is here and it focuses on the combat, weapons and tactics players will have at their disposal when the game hits shelves this November. In addition to some of the more typical interviews with the title’s creative and technical directors, the short mixes footage featuring the Sons of the American Revolution, history professors and military consultants that discuss the time period, 18th century warfare and the authenticity with which Ubisoft presents these in AC3.
The pseudo-historical documentary style of these videos reminds me of what Visceral Games did with Dante’s Inferno: Divine Edition, which I’m sure will please more than a few history buffs out there. Even if the development team is going to take certain liberties to make it a more entertaining product, it’s nice to know there’s a reverence for the source material there.
