Sucker Punch has today revealed that the European release of inFAMOUS will not be shipping with an English voice track in certain parts of Europe. While the UK will obviously be getting an English language version, it seems that Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands will have no option. The English language version will itself only contain Portuguese and Russian voice options.
This may well prove an unpopular move, as evidenced by reactions already appearing on the Sucker Punch forums. The forums are down at the moment, but the move was not greeted with cheers, especially due to the fact that Dutch gamers speak English very widely and the language is considered a huge driving force in their country’s game market.
Apparently, the decision to carve out the language options was due to a request by SCEE. There will likely be a huge European civil war now, so thanks for that, Sony.
