inFAMOUS dev Sucker Punch bought by Sony

In news that isn’t shocking on the face of things, but is still a big deal, Sony has acquired PS3-exclusive developer Sucker Punch. None of you are surprised, but all of you recognize this is news. Isn’t that weird?

Sucker Punch is best known for inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper, with both properties exclusive to Sony consoles. It’ll become the sixteenth member of SCE Worldwide Studios and Sony’s Foster City Studio will join current management in running the company. 

“We’ve enjoyed an incredible relationship with Sony that has allowed us to combine our creative design capabilities with their guidance to make some of the best franchises to hit the PlayStation platforms. said managing partner Brian Fleming. “Equally important, the relationship with SCE has provided us the flexibility and trust to take creative risks and invent new properties.

“As a part of the Sony Computer Entertainment group we look forward to introducing more innovative content and providing consumers with exciting, new interactive experiences.”
