Indie shmup Jamestown+ targets summer launch on PS4

Mars is waiting. Bring your friends.

Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony is aiming to launch on PlayStation 4 this summer, Final Form Games co-founder Mike Primo revealed over at the PlayStation Blog

The stellar indie shoot-’em-up initially launched on PC back in 2011, but a console release seems to be something the developers have always had in the back of their minds. Now, thanks to the “a ton of encouragement and support from the nice folks at PlayStation” that dream is becoming a reality.

Final Form strives to make Jamestown+ the “definitive, be-all, end-all, director’s cut, remastered, extended edition of the game.” Sp this sounds like more than just a quick and dirty port job.

In addition to the full original experience, the PS4 version will come equipped with an assortment of new ships with customizable weapons systems and new levels on the Martian moons of Phobos and Deimos. And what’s more, there will be an additional story chapter that promises to wrap things up nicely.
