Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gets ESRB rating for PS5

Is a release date imminent?

Even as someone who’s not the most ardent fan of the film franchise, I was very impressed with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Its action-adventure storytelling, interesting puzzles, and Troy Baker’s take on the titular explorer made it a standout game.

If there’s one downside to it, it’s that it’s currently an Xbox exclusive. While it has been confirmed that The Great Circle will be coming to PlayStation 5, we haven’t yet had a release date. However, that date could arrive any day now, as the Entertainment Software Rating Board has now rated the game for the Sony console.

This was spotted by known leaker Wario64 (thanks, Insider Gaming), which points to the entry on the ESRB website. While there’s still no confirmation on when it actually drops for PS5, we can assume that MachineGames or Bethesda will announce it soon.

Contains blood and gore

The ratings board describes it as “an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Indiana Jones on an adventure to uncover a mystery while defeating villains.” It classes it as Teen for its depiction of blood and gore, drug references, mild language, and, of course, violence.

This also represents what Microsoft has been promising; that games exclusive to the Xbox console and Windows PCs would be making their way to more rival systems, in this case, the PS5. Other Xbox exclusives being ported to PlayStation include Doom: The Dark Ages, while many will also hope that Avowed will eventually make its way to the console.

Although the hype has died down now, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle received a lot of praise since its release in December 2024. Our own Steven Mills gave it a solid 8 out of 10, calling it an “authentic Indiana Jones experience” with a “high level of polish.”
