Impressive trailer for Half-Life fan film debuts

[Update: In before total Internet meltdown — this trailer is apparently a few months old, and therefore it’s like I have unearthed a sarcophagus. In my defense, the Vimeo version of the trailer went live 12 hours ago, which was my original source. To make matters worse, the video actually made its way to our website four months ago. Boy, there’s some egg on my face!

But look, I’m leaving it here because it’s awesome, and I suspect a lot of folks haven’t already seen it. To those readers, enjoy. To everyone else who wants to complain about how it’s “old, OMG,” — eat it. Or, you know, just watch it again.]

What does two years, $1200, and a hell of a lot of talent get you? An impressive Half-Life-inspired fan film, called Beyond Black Mesa.

The trailer just made its debut online, and it’s chock full of impressive special effects, slick action, and relentless Combine soldiers. Directed by Brian Curtin, the film focuses on a resistance fighter named Adrian Shephard who, along with others, is attempting to send out a warning of an impending invasion.
