That’s the claim, at least. Apparently, the import process for Dragon Age II will be akin to “importing the world” from Dragon Age: Origins, says lead designer Mike Laidlaw in an interview with NowGamer.
“The decisions your Warden made and the person they were all affects Dragon Age II. You know, who’s in charge of Ferelden, what happened with the Dwarves, who’s running Orzammar? All of these things are reflected and accounted for in Dragon Age II.”
The more far-reaching quote, perhaps, is the following: “I’ve always seen Dragon Age as a franchise as about more than any one character. It’s about entire an entire span of history and the whole world that’s affected by what happens.”
Not that Mass Effect 2‘s save importing wasn’t better than what other studios are doing, but I personally was underwhelmed, and I hope these comments for Dragon Age don’t put BioWare in a similar situation.
