A brand new trailer for Naughty Bear has hit the Internet, and it’s the video that has convinced me that I’m looking at Game of the Year material. I was sure the game would be funny, but this gameplay footage is so delightfully macabre that it has officially entered the realm of genius.
It would be easy to just have an over-the-top festival of shredded limbs and flying stuffing, but Naughty Bear decided to be more dark than that. It seems the deaths are more akin to something found in Manhunt — more understated brutality as opposed to overplayed toy-on-toy splatter. There’s nothing funny about the above video… and that’s what makes it so damn hilarious.
