I figured YIIK: A Postmodern RPG was out by now and I had just missed it, but it looks like Ackk Studios is targeting a summer 2016 release for its strange, late-’90s-set, “Japanese-style” role-playing title. Extra time for another round of polish (or whatever the case may be) sounds terrific.

The footage here reminds me of the studio’s last game, Two Brothers, in that way. Conceptually, I’m expecting an ambitious, memorable adventure with a bunch of eclectic ideas, some of which might not pan out. If that ends up being the case, I’d be content.

Nice to see a red-haired protagonist, also. Someone for me to identify with aside from the usual.
