Awhile back PopCap asked me if I wanted to be in on their beta of Zuma Blitz on Facebook. I think they knew the answer to that before they even asked me. Of course I wanted to be in on anything called Zuma Anything. I’m all up in it now, and at it has been ruining my workday with its addictiveness. Seriously, forget all other Facebook games. This one…well, this one actually has a point, and requires skill. Get out of the ‘Ville’ and get into the temple. This is where the action is at, folks.
This whole one minute high score thing in Zuma Blitz is seriously addictive. I couldn’t stop earlier. When I started seeing my peers’ scores, it made it way worse. By mid afternoon today I had a ruined right hand from too much Zuma-ing. I could barely type to do my work. Blame PopCap if this week’s reviews aren’t timely!
Things are a bit different now.
Nick and I have been neck and neck as far as scores go in the office today (see above), which is funny as neither one of us have time to be Zuma-ing. We keep sneaking in games anyway. But something has happened over the course of the afternoon, as the day progresses. I’ve reached this new Zen state where I feel a total inner calm about how I’m never going to get the high score. Seeing others with astronomical scores isn’t making me mad — it’s healing me. I’ve come full circle. I can now enter into a Zuma Blitz game with a still soul, playing for enjoyment. Others are talking strategy and bragging about scores. Not me. I’m staying in this Zen state. I’m at peace.

Ha! Who am I kidding. Have you seen my score on Xbox Live? Who do you people think you are? You aren’t sh*t! You hear me?! You’ve got nothing. It may be a few days, but as soon as I have some free time you’ll see me at the very top of the rankings.
