Idolm@ster sequel headed for Japanese Xbox 360s

The very Japanese game about being a producer who trains and guides potential pop idols stays in Japan with the announcement of Idolm@ster’s sequel, Idolm@ster Live for You.

This new one is less hands-on, as players will take on a overseeing role, picking out songs and costumes for the girls. A video DVD will also be packaged with the game.

Just like the last one, Namco Bandai has made Idolm@ster Live for You an Xbox 360 exclusive. It’s predecessor gave Japan the highest console-to-Live sign up ratio in the world. The company made a small fortune selling downloadable content for the first game, and I’m sure they have similar plans for this sequel.

No release date has been mentioned yet, and I don’t ever expect to see a U.S. release date, but at least there’s cow spotted costumes!
