Hytale early access Update 2 patch notes – New magic, cosmetics, and more

Update 2 for Hytale‘s early access has been announced for the pre-release version, and there are plenty of new items to find.

Coming less than a week after the first update, the second one focuses heavily on general gameplay and balance. However, there are changes to how cosmetics and customization work.

The second patch has plenty of gameplay changes, including a brand new Necromancy Grimoire that drops from Skeleton Praetorian.

  • Necromancy Grimoire allows you to raise five skeletal minions.
  • Adamantite requires a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe.
  • Mining speed increases with pickaxe quality.
  • Faster rail karts
  • Tower exploit fixed
  • All crops can place produce in the world
  • Adjusted hide drops
  • Magma Rhino Toad attack updates

Additionally, you’ll find cosmetic and customization-related changes as well.

  • New face mask accessories
  • Armor slot visibility toggle
  • New mouth variants
  • Berserker haircut tiling fixed
  • Updated cape animations, haircuts, and more

There are some more changes related to World Generation.

  • Major ore placement refactor in all zones
  • WorldGen V2 prepared for public documentation
  • Zone 1 dungeon environment fixes

  • Eternal crops can withstand weapon damage
  • Increased tilled soil lifetime
  • Fixed soil decay under fully grown crops

  • Clothing color tooltips added
  • Better hotbar active-slot contrast (diamond indicator, helpful in Howling Sands)
  • Memory categories sorted alphabetically

  • Optional FPS counter overlay
  • Player markers added to the compass
  • Ophidiophobia accessibility mode
