There are five different stats in Hunters you upgrade with Ability points, which you get by fighting in dungeons and defeating enemies. You also have the option to reset your allocated Ability points, but keep in mind this comes at a price – the more points you have, the more in-game coins it’s going to cost.

When you enter the game, click on the chart button on your left. This opens the Stats window, which shows you how many points you can spend and how many you have invested in the five stats: STR, AGI, PER, VIT and INT.

  • Strength (STR): Related to your sword weapons, their damage and pierce. Invest in STR if you want to main swords and greatswords.
  • Agility (AGI): A stat for dagger weapons, specifically their damage but also their speed. If you feel like the dagger is your best weapon, put your points in this stat.
  • Perception (PER): Used as an advantage to any weapon in blocking and parrying enemies’ attacks.
  • Vitality (VIT): A stat that helps with your overall health. It’s useful for every player, since putting points in this category helps you deal with any sort of inflicted damage.
  • Intellect (INT): The most important skill point if you want to make yourself a mage staff build, considering it improves your casting skills.

Obviously, there are various builds you can make with your stats, but whatever you choose keep these two tips in mind:

  • Invest points in VIT: No matter your gameplay style, VIT is necessary because it boosts your overall health and endurance. However, no need to invest too much in it, since a good piece of armor does the work for you.
  • Do not invest in PER: even though investing in a skill that technically helps your defense, putting points in PER has proven as an unprofitable strategy. Perhaps it’s due to the game being unbalanced, but points in PER barely show any results.

With this out of the way, it’s time to focus on the three skills related to the three available weapon types in-game:

  • STR: Max out solely on this stat if you primarily use swords.
  • AGI: Max out solely on this stat if you primarily use daggers.
  • INT: Max out solely on this stat if you primarily use staff. This seems to currently be the best strategy, considering the staff are the best weapons in-game.

Keep in mind that hybrid builds, i.e. investing in multiple skills at once, don’t work in this game. Swords and staff are two-handed weapons, which is why combining weapons isn’t possible. That being said, focus on one of the three remaining stats and solely level up that one.

Ultimately, it’s up to you to choose what works best for you gameplay. If you have weak staff or just don’t like playing a mage, it won’t be too much of a setback. Select your weapon of choice and level up its respective skill, STR for swords and AGI for daggers. Remember to invest some points in VIT as well!

Once you get the hang of all the stats, you’ll be able to make your best build and become a pro at the game in no time. If you want to get there faster, check out our Hunters Ultimate Beginners Guide.
