Humor in videogames? The Simpsons Game delivers

Recommended Videos

Admittedly, if you don’t find the brand of humor found in The Simpsons TV show very funny, chances are The Simpsons Game isn’t going to win you over anytime soon. Or will it?

The latest Simpsons-based game not only manages to stay true to the same comedy style that fans of the series have grown to love over the years (until about season 10 or so), but is also able to perfectly capture the essence of videogames as a medium with parodies like “Medal of Homer” and “Neverquest.”

While the in-game camera may be pretty frustrating, I’m able to overlook that issue thanks to the game’s fantastic visual style and excellent use of cut scenes. Quite simply, as a die-hard Simpsons fan and a gamer, I feel that The Simpsons Game has the potential to be one of the funniest pieces of entertainment to come out in recent memory.
