How to use the Split Fiction Friend’s Pass

This adventure is better with a friend.

The beauty of co-op games like Split Fiction is spending time with your friends. While some games require both of you to own a copy, Split Fiction has a Friend Pass system that lets you both play as long as you or your friend own it.

How to use the Split Fiction Friend’s Pass

Here’s a complete step-by-step to playing Split Fiction through its Friend Pass:

  1. Have either you or your friend purchase Split Fiction.
  2. Head to Split Fiction’s store page (Steam, EGS, PS Store, or Xbox)
  3. Choose the Friend Pass and download it.
  4. Create an EA Account if you don’t have one before signing in.
  5. Wait for an invite from your friend.

If you’re downloading the Friend Pass, you’ll have to install the game before receiving an invite from your friend. Similarly, if you own Split Fiction and have a friend who downloaded the Friend Pass, you’ll have to hop in-game and send them a quick invite.

While Split Fiction’s main store pages include the Friend Pass, you can also access it using the links below:

The Friend Pass is available on PC, Xbox, and PS5 through Split Fiction’s storefronts, letting you and your friend play together regardless of your preferred platform. It also supports crossplay, so don’t stress if you’re on PC and have a friend on console.

Since Split Fiction didn’t have Friend Pass preloading before its official launch, you had to wait until its release on March 6, 2025, to access it. It’s a hefty download, so be prepared to spend some time installing it before playing. Whoever owns the game must also download it first so they can invite you.
