Where to find the Musical Map in Hogwarts Legacy

To find the Musical Map, you want to head your way south. Go west from the South Clagmar Coast floo powder location and go southwest from Bainburgh. Yep, it’s that far down south. You’ll find Henrietta’s Hideaway there. You’ll find enemies nearby, but you can sneak by them if you directly head to the entrance down the stairway.

Before you attempt the puzzles, you’ll need Glacius, Wingardium Leviosa, and Incendio to succeed. As you enter the cavernous area, you’ll see one block on the right and a flame symbol on the ground to the left. First, cast Glacius (the ice spell) to the block on the right.

Now, look to the right. You’ll see a statue of a mysterious caped wizard. Underneath there’s a pot of ash. Cast Incendio (the fire spell) on it. It will reveal a treasure chest. Do the same to the left statue. It will spin to reveal the cube you need.

Now lift the cube and bring it to the fire symbol on the floor. Cast Incendio once more to open the path forward.

How to get the Map

You’ll see a bunch of Ashwinders in front of you. There’s a tough Executioner within the halls. Try to use his lightning spell against the weaker enemies. They’ll take a lot of damage from the friendly fire. Also take out the annoying ranger at the higher platform because they’ll keep casting Petrificus Totalus at you. You don’t want to be stunned.

Once they’re taken care of, go up the stairs. You’ll come across a trap that stops you from proceeding. Dashing by holding the dodge button worked for me. Now there are more Ashwinders. If you’re struggling to get their health down quickly, use a Maxima Potion if you have any. It increases your damage. Use some spell combinations as well, including Glacius and then Diffindo; these increase your combat potential.

You may encounter some Inferi as well. Use fire spells to make them susceptible to your attacks. Then attack with your usual spells. Good luck with dealing these undead.

After they’re dealt with, look to your right. You’ll see a cracked wall. Walk towards the brick wall to the right of it, and you’re let through to the next room. Look left and you’ll see a few candles on a table. The musical map is below them. You’ll also find money within a chest and a Wiggenweld potion within this area.

Where is the Musical Map in Hogwarts Legacy pointing to?

If you take a glance at the Musical Map in Hogwarts Legacy in your inventory, you’ll see it’s leading you to an area in the open world. Specifically, it wants you to go to Clagmar Castle. It’s east of Henrietta’s Hideaway (where you got the Musical Map) and north of the South Clagmar Coast fast travel location. There’s also a Merlin’s Trial and a Stargazing spot in Henrietta’s Hideaway to finish while you’re in the area.

When you arrive, you’ll face a bunch of Ashwinders walking about. There’s even a boss there that is taken out quickly with Bombarda. You may also face some nasty Inferius (skeletons that are weak to fire). Take them out with the best spells you have.

How to decipher this map

Once these foes are dealt with, go southwest of the area. Nearby a fireplace and some elaborate tents, you’ll see a stairway leading up to nine bells.

Strike them in this order:

  1. Bottom right bell
  2. 3rd on the left
  3. 2nd on the left
  4. 2nd on the right
  5. 3rd on the left again
  6. Top bell on the left
  7. Top on the right
  8. 2nd on the right

You’ll find out the song the bell plays is a neat reference to the magical “Hedwig’s Theme” by John Williams. The treasure chest appears on your left-hand side. You now have the Treasure-Seeker’s Longcoat.
