How to unlock Warfarer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The jack of all trades.

Even though the Vocations are incredibly powerful, they still have limitations regarding their weapon lineup. Most often, you’ll encounter battles that are better suited for long-range events, while others mainly focus on brute force alone. Choosing which class works best isn’t easy, but the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warfarer Vocation makes this process much more manageable.

Unlocking the Warfarer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, explained

The Warfarer Vocation can be unlocked from Lamond, a character located at Volcanic Island Camp. Unfortunately, this area won’t be accessible until the game’s later stages during the quest A New Godsway. You must also obtain three bottles of Newt Liqueur for Lamond to get him on your side. He will reward the Warfarer Vocation when enough resources are provided.

Once you open the Flamebearer Spellseal Door during the main questline, the southern part of the map will be unlocked. Travel down to the Volcanic Island Camp, which will be on the pathway of A New Godsway. Lamond can be found next to the Geyser Hamlet, also known as the Hot Springs.

To get an idea of where Lamond is, he will be sitting in front of the Hot Springs desk:

Give him three bottles of Newt Liqueur to unlock the Warfarer Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Without the exchange, Lamond will only give you rotten eggs. It’s a kind gesture, but of course, the unique class proves much better.

If you aren’t familiar with the Vocation, it allows you to swap between multiple weapons, dipping into other combat styles. For example, users can wield bows, swords, staffs, and daggers simultaneously. It also doesn’t impact weight capacity much, but the one with the highest weight does count.

How to get Newt Liqueur in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Players can purchase Newt Liqueur for 5,000 G each at the Bakbattahl hidden shop near Higg’s Tavern Stand. However, the store won’t be available initially, especially if you aren’t Beastran. In this case, equip a Beastren Mask, which can be bought at the Checkpoint Rest Town Scrap Store.

Using the mask, go to the pen to the left of the stairway. Then, pick up a haystack and place it inside the pen to get an NPC to talk to you. They’ll grant you access to the store to buy the Newt Liqueur for Lamond.

You may also get the Newt Liqueur for free when exploring around Battahl. In particular, the Forbidden Magick Research Lab holds a bottle near the dragon statue. But, since they can be challenging to find, it’s best to purchase them at the Tavern.
