How to unlock every Mercenaries character and level in Resident Evil 4 remake

There isn’t too much to navigate at launch

After several weeks of waiting, Resident Evil 4 remake’s Mercenaries Mode is here. But a lot of folks are already lamenting the lack of content, so let’s go over exactly what this free mode entails.

How much content does Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries have?

• Four characters with fixed loadouts and unique abilities called Mayhem Modes (Leon, Luis, Krauser, Hunk)
• Three stages coinciding with the three core areas of the RE4 campaign (Village, Castle, Island)
• One unlock (the handcannon for the main story)

The remake’s iteration of Mercenaries Mode is notably missing the fourth island/water themed stage from the original RE4 Mercs. Ada and Wesker are also not playable at launch, and are expected to arrive with a later patch (potentially with Separate Ways/Assignment: Ada, which have been datamined): but nothing is confirmed by Capcom at the moment.

• Leon: Unlocked by default from the start
• Luis: Unlocked by earning an A ranking (or higher) in any stage with Leon
• Krauser: Unlocked by earning an A ranking (or higher) in any stage with Luis
• Hunk: Unlocked by earning an A ranking (or higher) in any stage with Krauser

How to unlock every RE4 remake Mercenaries stage

• Village: unlocked by default from the start
• Castle: Unlocked by earning any ranking in Village
• Island: Unlocked by earning any ranking in Castle
