How to unlock every hat at the Hat Mouse in Stardew Valley

You can tell a lot about someone by their hat.

There is an adorable NPC in Stardew Valley called the Hat Mouse. He lives in the Abandoned House to the south of Cindersap Forest and, as his name suggests, he sells hats. However, his stock grows over the course of the game and each hat has a specific unlock trigger.

The Hat Mouse will send you a letter the morning after you complete your first achievement in game, so it makes sense that each of the hats he goes on to sell only unlocks after you’ve earned its accompanying achievement.

There are some exceptions to this, such as the hats that are won by coming first in seasonal events.

How to put hats on Cats and Dogs in Stardew Valley

All of the Hat Mouse’s hats, as well as any other that can be found in Stardew Valley can be placed on Cats and Dogs.

To do this, place the hat into your inventory and select it, before right clicking on your pet. I’d advise that you don’t do this near water, because you might lose any hat that they were already wearing.
