A new event has arrived in Pokopia, courtesy of your new friend, Jirachi. If you’re eager to meet this adorable Pokémon and claim all exclusive event prizes, you’ll need to know how to start the Wish Upon a Jirachi event.
This event is only available for a limited time, so you’ll want to get going as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out. It can be a bit tricky to get things moving, though, so here’s how to start the Wish Upon a Jirachi event in Pokopia.

All requirements to unlock Wish Upon a Jirachi event in Pokopia
To start the Wish Upon a Jirachi event in Pokopia, you need to log in sometime between 5am on June 23 to July 8 and have at least one completed Pokémon Center. As long as these requirements are met, you’ll get a notification upon logging in that says, “A Pokémon is the talk of the town! Head to the Pokémon Center to see for yourself!”
You can then visit the Pokémon Center to find Jirachi right outside of the building. Jirachi is supposed to spawn outside, but sometimes, this Pokémon instead appears inside, so check there too if you can’t find it. If you don’t get the event message at all upon logging in, you’ll need to make sure the two requirements have been met to trigger it.
- Log on during the event duration. The Wish Upon a Jirachi event is a limited-time occurrence, so to participate in it, you must join in during the specified timeframe. It runs from 5am on June 23 to 4:59am on July 8, so you’ve got two full weeks to dive in. The timing is based on your own local timezone. There’s a lot to get done in it, so the sooner you begin, the more likely you’ll be to finish the full thing.
- Have at least one Pokémon Center rebuilt. Jirachi needs a place to meet up with you, so you must have at least one of the broken-down Pokémon Centers rebuilt to start this event. If you don’t have one fixed yet, I recommend focusing on the one in Withered Wasteland, as this is the starting area and thus the overall easiest one to repair.
How to begin the Wish Upon a Jirachi event in Pokopia
You can start the Wish Upon a Jirachi event by talking to Jirachi at a Pokémon Center within the event timeframe. As soon as you do, this Pokémon will ask for your help, thus kicking off the main event missions, which task you with turning wish notes into shining wish notes by completing quests for Pokémon.
