How to solve the Bygone Settlement puzzle in Jedi Survivor

That pesky fan

Recommended Videos

AsĀ Star Wars Jedi: Survivor continues its string of Metroidvania sequence-breaking challenges: you may come across the Bygone Settlement and bounce off of it. Here’s a tip: don’t sweat it! You can come back later when you have the proper abilities needed to navigate it. Here’s how.

You can clear the Bygone Settlement once you have the air dash

Note that the Bygone Settlement is not a story-required area: you can come back to it later on in the game. In fact, you have to, as you need the air dash ability to navigate the giant fan properly. You’ll unlock the air dash by visiting Jedha throughout the story (to be exact, the second time you arrive). Just continue on with the campaign and you’ll get it automatically.

Once you have the air dash, make your way back to the Bygone Settlement. First, make your way up to the settlement by jumping off of a mount on the mound in the gallery above. Then hang a left and run around the platforms to get higher and higher.

Once you’re in the middle level, you’ll spot a giant fan. Interact with the grappling line nearby to create a shortcut, then double-jump and airdashĀ through the fan. Hang on to the area in front of you and continue your way up the Bygone Settlement. You’ll find a Jawa to recruit at the summit for your efforts! Also, don’t forget to go around the Sandcrawler (to the left) and pull down a flap in the back. Continue up on top of the Sandcrawler to pick up a skill point.

That’s it! Instead of smashing into the fan constantly trying to find a way through, just come back later. Also, note the red box on the map near the fan if you attempt the area before picking up the air dash: that signifies that you can’t get through a hazard at this time.
