How to re-roll duties in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Time to switch things up!

Duties are essential tasks to complete regularly if you want to maintain a healthy supply of Dreamlight in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Sometimes, though, the tasks you’re given might be too tricky to tackle, so you may want to re-roll them.

Prior to The Winter Ball update, skipping duties wasn’t an option, so you were stuck with what you had. Luckily, though, this has been changed, which means you now have more control over the missions you see and complete. Here’s how to re-roll duties in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

You can re-roll a duty by selecting the icon featuring two arrows in a circle near the top right corner next to all available missions. Before you can re-roll a mission, you need to have at least one re-roll token available for use.

The re-roll option is only available for duties that fall under the main Dreamlight Duties page or those that take over across DLC worlds, like Mist Duties and Storybook Duties. All other duties that fall under the other categories, like Mining or Foraging, cannot be rerolled. You also can’t use this feature on regular duties or routine duties featured in events like Winter Warmth, Witchful Thinking, and Retro Roadtrip.

How to get re-roll tokens in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Re-roll tokens are granted whenever you have fewer than three available to use and you complete a Dreamlight Duty. If you have three saved, you cannot gain any additional ones until you spend one. Only one re-roll token is granted for each completed mission, so if you use all three, you’ll need to finish three duties to gain three back.

Re-rolling isn’t available right away, so if you can’t use this feature, you need to keep completing duties featured on the Dreamlight Duty page until you get a pop-up. At this point, you’ll be given your first three re-rolls for free.

It took me about seven duties for the pop-up to appear, but other players on Discord have shared different numbers, like five or six. The exact requirements are unclear, but as of the time of writing, I haven’t seen anyone need to tackle more than 10 duties to unlock it, so just keep at it, and you should gain access to it in no time.

How many duties can you skip in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

You can skip and re-roll up to three duties in a row. There’s no cooldown on this feature, though, so as long as you keep completing duties to earn more re-roll tokens, you can really skip as many as you want. You’ll just have to take small breaks in between to earn more re-rolls.

There are lots of other tricky features in DDV that you may need some help learning about. Some of these features include placing stalls in DLC worlds, changing your Dream Castle skin, unlocking all horses and mounts, and getting the Sakura Blossom Dragon Community Companion.
