We’ve all been there while playing Palworld; a raid happens, you’ve shot an errant fire arrow (oops) or your Pals have got a bit trigger happy and what happens? The wooden walls of your base go up in smoke and you just have to watch it happen while crying inside.
If your base is in flames and you’d rather do something than watch everything crumble before your very eyes, there are a few things you can do in order to get things under control.
Utilise your water type Pals

If somethings burning, the best thing to do (in most situations, at least) is throw water at it and Palworld is no different. If your wooden house is in jeopardy, get some Water type Pals on the case and throw them at the fire. Literally.
To make a Water type Pal fight an active fire, press V to pick it up and then manually transfer it to where the fire is. They should, theoretically, begin trying to put out the fire.
I say ‘theoretically’ because the one time I tried to do this, my Dumud became obsessed with watering my Wheat while the wooden barricades of my base burned in the background. However, base AI has been tweaked in Patches since then so hopefully your Pals will be much more compliant in these dramatic circumstances than mine were.
Deconstruct the burning objects

Rather than trying to put out the fire and running the risk of it spreading, if your base is mostly wood and you don’t want the fire to take everything you’ve built, you could always deconstruct the parts that are burning.
To enter deconstruction mode, press B and then C in quick succession, then click on whatever you want to deconstruct. Hopefully, as long as you’ve been quick enough, the fire should be removed and you’re free to rebuild your base.
Deactivate Raiding

Considering the fact that most fires begin during raids, one of the best pieces of advice I have for you if you want a base filled with wooden constructions is to turn off Raiding.
We have a full guide on this, but in short, you can turn Raiding off by going into your world settings before entering your game. Not only does it help to prevent fires at your base, but you don’t have to worry about your Pals becoming injured during a Raid or having to give them medicine.
