How to pre-load the Resident Evil 4 remake & launch times

It’s nearly upon us

Recommended Videos

The Resident Evil 4 remake is nearly here, and if you’re the kind of person who wants to get going as soon as the game unlocks, you’ll probably want to know exactly when and how to do just that.

Luckily, Resident Evil 4 is already available to preload, and it unlocks real soon, too.

How to preload

If you’ve ever preloaded a game after pre-ordering, you know it’s a perfectly painless process. Just find the game in your library or on your storefront of choosing and click “download.” This is consistent across all available platforms for RE4. Whether you’re on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC, all you’ve gotta do is locate that download button. Should be easy enough.

When does Resident Evil 4 unlock?

After your game is nice and preloaded, you’ll still need to wait a bit before you get to actually play it. Resident Evil 4 officially launches on March 24. Obviously, March 24 is a pretty vague period. If your plans require you to get more specific than that, then you can count on a relatively early launch time. According to the game’s Steam listing, it will release at midnight EST. That’s 9:00 PM March 23 PDT/4:00 AM GMT.
