This task appears on just about every Star Path event, so it’s an important one to know how to complete. The specifics of it vary from event to event, but the general concept is always the same. If this quest has you stumped, here’s how to practice mine-fulness in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What does practice mine-fulness mean in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

The practice mine-fulness task is asking you to go mining and earn Gems. This can be done by using your Royal Pickaxe to mine rock nodes around Dreamlight Valley, Eternity Isle, and Storybook Vale.

The tricky part of this task is that not all rock nodes drop Gems. Other materials that drop from mining, like Coal Ore, Copper, Iron Ore, Zinc, and Stone, don’t count for this task. Only items listed under the official Gem category on the Collection page work for this one.

Any rock node you come across has a chance of having some Gems inside, but only the ones that have bright, colorful Gems sticking out of them are guaranteed to have them. Luck plays a large role in how easy or difficult it is to acquire them.

The play on the word “mindfulness” might have you thinking this task is related to meditation or the mind in some way. Instead of being focused on the mind, you need to focus on mining, so the correlation to this clue is focusing solely on mining rather than your mind. It’s a vague hint designed to challenge you to solve what needs to be done.

To complete the practice mine-fulness task for the Retro Roadtrip Star Path, you need to mine a total of five Gems from around your village. Finishing this task gets you 15 Tokens to spend in the event, which is a pretty substantial amount for how easy this task is to get done, as long as luck is on your side.

If you’re having trouble with this one, try mining around biomes where there are plenty of rock nodes. Some of the best locations to try are the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Sunlit Plateau, and Dazzle Beach.

Consider crafting a Miracle Pickaxe Polish or an Even More Miraculous Pickaxe Polish to have an easier time with this task. Both potions can be applied to your Royal Pickaxe to grant more Gems when you mine. All Gems you find with this potion applied count for the Star Path duty.

You can also bring along a mining companion to have a chance of finding extra Gems and resources. Any extra items they find won’t count for the Star Path task, but it’s still a good idea to bring a friend along so you can stock up on materials while mining.

Gems are an essential item for most quests you come across in DDV since they’re a fundamental crafting component. You can never have too many of them. Some tasks you may want to work on next are Dream a Little Dream, The Fortress of Saditude, and Create a Bear.
