In the Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack, there’s a fun new activity you can engage in with a group of villagers in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This activity is called Pooh Bear Sticks, and it’s quite unlike anything else in the valley.
Since this gameplay mechanic is rather unique, it can be a bit tricky to figure out and succeed at. It’s an important feature you won’t want to miss out on, though, so here’s how to play Pooh Bear Sticks in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What is Pooh Bear Sticks in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Pooh Bear Sticks is a special game you can play with three valley villagers. It’s based on an actual game played by Winnie the Pooh and friends in one of the books they originate from, which is why it’s a core gameplay feature in the Honeyflow Woods region.
This game is a Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack exclusive, so only owners of this DLC have the chance to join in on the fun. In Pooh Bear Sticks, a group of four, including you, selects an item to toss down into the river below. The goal is to have your item travel through the water and reach the finish line fastest.
Playing this game mode with valley villagers provides a nice boost to your friendship with all participants, similar to Scramblecoin in Eternity Isle. It also has a collection of rewards you can unlock as you progress.
How to start Pooh Bear Sticks in Disney Dreamlight Valley
A round of Pooh Bear Sticks can be started at the bridge at the Honeyglow Bridge in the Gloommeadow biome. You’re looking for an arched wooden bridge with a stone base in this area.
At this bridge, interact with the bridge sign to kick off the game. When you do, you’ll be prompted to choose the item you want to submit into the race, such as some Wood, a Pumpkin, or an Apple. You cannot dive into a Pooh Bear Sticks match on the go; instead, you must initiate a game from this specific location.

All Pooh Bear Sticks items in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You won’t be able to use just any item in Pooh Bear Sticks. Instead, there’s a pre-determined list of options you can pick from, as long as you have at least one of a selected resource. Below is a list of every item you can use in Pooh Bear Sticks:
Wood
- Softwood
- Dry Wood
- Hardwood
- Dark Wood
- Driftwood
Fruit
- Apple
- Sweet Chestnut
- Lemon
Vegetables
- Potato
- Carrot
- Bell Pepper
- Pumpkin
- Golden Pattypan
- Tomato
- Onion
Since not every fruit or vegetable is available, we can fine-tune our strategy based on these 15 options.
How to win Pooh Bear Sticks in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You can win Pooh Bear Sticks by having your item cross the finish line first in any given round. During a match, a silhouette of each character’s chosen fruit, vegetable, or wood will appear above their heads to help you pinpoint what you’re going up against. In the example below, we can determine that Jafar will use an apple, Mirabel will use a pumpkin, and Gaston will choose a potato.

Every item has pros and cons. Wood is generally faster than fruit and vegetables but are much slower in whirlpools, while large fruits and vegetables like pumpkins can resist them much easier. Generally speaking, woods such as Dark Wood and Driftwood have consistent odds of winning, similar to Pumpkin and Golden Pattypans for their size.
Since you don’t know ahead of time where whirlpools will spawn, or which column your item will appear in, you have to partially rely on luck to win your Pooh Bear Sticks matches. Even if you pick the best choice for a particular set of items, having a grid of three to four whirlpools can quickly mess you up. Similarly, you play a pumpkin in hopes of getting past whirlpools, only to lose to a piece of wood because none spawned.
