College Football 27‘s early access begins worldwide on July 2, and you can jump in later today without having to spend big. To play in early access, you’ll either need to have subscribed to MVP+ membership or own the Digital Deluxe edition (you can start playing on July 6).
However, you can also avail the EA Play trial to begin your journey as early as today and without the need to spend big.
How to download College Football 27 via EA Play
While the full version of College Football 27 won’t be available with EA Play, you can get up to 10 hours of gameplay. This includes all game modes, including CUT, and you retain all your in-game progression if you decide to convert to a full purchase.
To access the 10 hours of gameplay, you’ll first need to have a valid EA Play membership. If you already own the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, there’s no need to get a different membership.
Next, go to the game’s store page. If you have an EA Play membership, choose the trial edition (if it doesn’t automatically show in the game’s store page). You can then download the trial for free and enjoy all the modes for up to ten hours.

Unlike the full purchase, you can’t pre-download the trial. You can only download the trial once the early access has begun on July 2. You can then enjoy all the modes even without a full purchase of the game. The EA Play membership also grants you a 10% discount if you wish to convert your trial to a full purchase.
If you own the Deluxe Edition on PC, you should also try out the trial. You can’t avail the MVP+ membership on PC. Hence, the earliest you can play is on July 6 using the Deluxe Edition. However, you can combine your purchase with the EA Play trial to start playing on July 2. That way, you can get up to 10 hours of head start on PC without having to sit out over the next four days.
The trial goes live at 9am PT/11am CT/12pm ET on July 2. Here’s a countdown to help you keep track of the different launches.
