The Lighthouse is situated on an island just off the coast of the main Squibbly Shores area. You’ll find the vault in the main room on the first floor of this building. It’s a screen with a keypad right under it. You cannot interact with it at all until you actually have the key to open it, so tracking down this item is the first step.
How to get the Lighthouse Vault key in Fortnite
The Lighthouse Vault keycard can be fished out of a shiny turquoise fishing spot just off the small island slightly north of the Lighthouse. Finding and catching this item is the toughest part of this quest, so here’s a full breakdown of how to get it done.
- Travel to the small island. From the Lighthouse island, make your way slightly north to the smaller island near it. This is the one with some stone ruins around it, right in front of a single green tree.
- Grab a fishing rod. Walk over to the north edge of the island to find a barrel with fishing rods next to the tree. Interact with the barrel to free them and grab one.
- Toss your line into the shiny pool. Approach the water near the barrel to spot a special, shiny pool. Throw your line into it to start fishing for the key.
- Wait for the line to bob. Keep your fishing rod steady until you see it bob under the surface. As soon as it does, pull the line up.
If the shiny water pool vanishes when you pull your line in, you’ll know you caught the keycard. It’ll drop on the ground nearby for you to pick up. If you don’t get it on the first try, keep fishing out of this spot until you do.
How to open the Lighthouse Vault in Fortnite
Once you’ve got the key, head back to the Lighthouse on the island nearby. Head inside the front door and walk straight to the middle of the room. Hover over the keycard in your inventory and interact with the screen attached to the green pole to unlock the vault. As soon as you do, the vault will officially be open, and some loot will spawn in front of it.

The Lighthouse Vault doesn’t have any exclusive loot, but it does have a decent chance of dropping some very high-quality items from the Chapter Seven, season two loot pool.
