How to open secret vaults in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2

These vaults aren't so secret anymore.

When you think of vaults in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, you’ll likely imagine those locked behind massive guarded doors or hiding in the backs of armored cars. While these are definitely still worth visiting, you can find a few secret vaults around the map that are way less crowded.

How to open the Outlaw Oasis secret vault in Fortnite

Fortnite’s first secret vault is located in Outlaw Oasis. As you approach the POI and enter its southern house, you’ll spot three golden wolf statues along a dark marble wall. While these don’t look suspicious initially, approaching them reveals you can turn them.

With this special tidbit of information on hand, turn each statue so they face away from the wall. At first, you won’t notice much has changed aside from a few sounds. If you break the black and white carpet, though, you’ll find an open floor entrance leading into a small secret vault.

This vault isn’t very big compared to the ones inside armored, trained, and locked vault doors. However, it does contain a rare chest, two regular treasure chests, and a porta-potty for teleporting out, letting you pick up some decent loot before moving on to your next objective. There usually aren’t any Dill Bits, but at least you can potentially get a gear upgrade.

How to open the Shiny Shafts secret vault in Fortnite

Fortnite’s next secret vault is right near Outlaw Oasis in Shiny Shafts. To open it, you must turn three pressure valve wheels in rapid succession. They’re not marked on your map, so you’ll need to watch out for all three pipes, turn their wheels, and run to the next location before their timers end.

The first valve is in the northern half of the POI, right in front of the middle grind beam. You’ll find it against one of the facility’s outer walls on an upper level, so jump up or climb some stairs to reach it.

Using the same grind beam as before, head south through the tunnel entrance labeled “1”. At the end of the beam, you’ll find your second pressure valve in front of you. Make sure to interact with it quickly before bolting to your right for the third valve.

Staying in this underground system, turn right from the previous valve and jump over the railing. Continuing west, head up the stairs until you find the third pressure valve next to a massive orange and blue vault door.

Once you quickly turn all three pressure valves, the orange and blue door from earlier will slowly open, revealing the secret vault. If this doesn’t happen right away, head back to the first pressure valve and run through Shiny Shafts quicker until you interact with all three valves in a short time. Doing this in under 20 seconds is possible, but even 30 seconds should be enough to activate the door.

Opening the vault door will reveal several rare chests to open and another porta-potty to teleport you to the surface. If you visit Shiny Shafts and Outlaw Oasis in the same match, you’ll be well on your way to having enough powerful gear to win a Victory Royale. You can even combine this with the vault doors you open using Thermite for even more valuable weapons and consumables if you want an extra boost to your power.
