How to mine Granite and Copper in Dune Awakening

The foundation materials for all things great

Granite and Copper are two of the earliest resources you can come across in Dune Awakening, and you’ll need them in large quantities as you unlock new recipes and technology.

These two items are required to craft a lot of different items that are available in the game. While the game doesn’t formally introduce you to either, you can mine both in large quantities with the right tool. While the two resources don’t have exact spawn spots on the map, they’re not that hard to miss.

How to get Granite in Dune Awakening

The core process of collecting Granite and Copper is practically the same. Your first task is to retrieve the Power Cutter tool that is part of the initial quests. You can use your right mouse button to scan an item and use the Left Mouse Button to fire the Cutter in Dune Awakening.

Granite lodes are typically brick-like in color and found in sandy areas. Look for arches to find the deposits. You can pick up singular pieces from the ground (as shown in the screenshot above). As an alternative, fire up the Cutter tool at the deposit, and it will keep adding the ore to your inventory.

You can get Copper the same way as you get Granite. You don’t need any additional tools to mine it (apart from the Cutter), and you can also pick isolated bits of it straight from the ground. Unlike Granite, Copper is easy to spot, as the deposits have a strange bluish strain on them. To mine the ore, fire your Cutter at it until the ore disintegrates completely.

How to use Granite and Copper in Dune Awakening

Granite is one of the most commonly used construction materials in the game. You can build many different items using it. I recommend having as much Granite as possible, especially if you plan to expand your base.

Copper, on the other hand, can’t be used directly. Instead, you’ll have to use them in an Ore Refinery and turn them into Copper Ingots. The Ingots are used in different items from the technology branch, which makes Copper pretty precious.
