When starting out in Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll need to ensure you link your save file to your HoYoverse account. This is, thankfully, much easier than in other similar games. However, there are some key points you should know about.
Does Honkai Star Rail require a HoYoverse account?
Chances are, if you have already begun Honkai: Star Rail, you likely have your HoYoverse account linked to the game. This is because starting the game in the first place usually leads to logging into a HoYoverse account or creating one for keeping track of your progress. This is how Honkai Star Rail handles cross-platform saves.
Before you begin your adventure throughout the galaxy, Honkai Star Rail requires you to create an account or login. If you put in the credentials for your existing account or make a new one, you’re good to go.
That said, there is one factor that you should keep in mind. If you have a HoYoverse account from titles like Genshin Impact, check to ensure your credentials match between games. I made this particular mistake, due to playing Genshin on PS5 where it connects with my PlayStation account there, rather than the HoYoverse one. Thankfully, that isn’t an issue for Honkai Star Rail, as it’s only available on Android, iOS, and PC for now.
Where to create a HoYoverse account
If you’ve played Genshin Impact on PlayStation or never tried a HoYoverse game, you’ll need to create a HoYoverse account. Fortunately, making a new account is quite simple.
You want to begin by heading to this link right here. There, you’ll be able to insert your email and create a password for your account. Keep in mind that your password must include at least eight characters and a mix of both numbers and letters. In addition, you have to verify your email before you can complete your account creation.
Pick an email you can easily access so you can quickly enter the verification code during the account creation process. After you agree to the terms of service and privacy policies, you’ll be good to go. Players alternatively have the option to create their HoYoverse account using external social media platforms that it connects to, such as Gmail, Apple, Facebook, and Twitter.
