How to get Thorium in Hytale

Very few armor sets in Hytale can be as game-changing as the Thorium set when diving into the deeps.

But thanks to that, it’s a given that getting the set’s main material will demand a lot of legwork, right? Well, not if you know where to look. Here’s how to get the Thorium and the best way to farm it in Hytale.

How to get Thorium in Hytale

You can get and farm Thorium in Hytale by mining its ores from large formations and caves across the Howling Sands biome’s The Badlands and The Desolate Basin regions. Thankfully, all kinds of pickaxes can do the job, although getting a copper-tier or above tool will significantly speed things up. It’s also possible to get the material as loot by opening chests and the like.

Unlike iron, the Thorium veins are way easier to spot via their green color, which sees them shine when illuminated by torches or other light sources. Upon mining it, you can smelt the ores and create the ingots needed to craft the armor pieces with a Furnace (six Tree Trunks and six Stone blocks).

All Thorium armor recipes in Hytale

Apart from the ingots and a Tier 2 Armorer’s Workbench, crafting the Thorium armor pieces in Hytale also requires gathering large amounts of Medium Leather, Linen Scraps, and Venom Sacs. The Medium Leather can be farmed by curating the hides of medium animals with the Tanning Rack, while the scraps are common drops from skeletons. Lastly, you can get the Venom Sacs by defeating spiders and other venomous enemies.
