The depths of the ocean in Subnautica 2 can be quite dark when the sun is down, but we can continue our exploration with the help of the Flashlight. This underwater torch has a pretty strong beam of light that will help you find your way in the dark.
But first, we have to unlock the blueprint to craft it using the Fabricator.

Flashlight fragment locations in Subnautica 2
To unlock the Flashlight, we have to find and scan two fragments. The order doesn’t matter. The first one is located near the first broken-down facility near the lifepod.
Head in through the entrance, and turn left. Go to the corner where the terminal is located, and you’ll find the fragment next to it. Scan the fragment, and then return to your lifepod. We will now need to find the second and final one.
The second fragment is located to the east of the lifepod. It can be found in a cave situated approximately 110m from the lifepod. Stay between 250 and 300 degrees to the NW on your compass, and you’ll come across a set of corals protruding out of the water. The cave is located directly underneath the corals; there’s a gust of air that’ll pull you down.
Here, you’ll come across a lab bench. You’ll find one fragment for the Wavemaker, a portable locker, and most importantly, the final fragment of the Flashlight. Complete the scan and head back to your lifepod. You’ll now have access to the blueprint.
How to craft the Flashlight in Subnautica 2
You can craft the Flashlight using the following resources.
- Two Titanium: Extremely common ore that can be found in the caves around your lifepod.
- One Quartz: Typically found near the corals. They have a milky white appearance.
- One Basic Battery: You can craft this with two Copper and one Acidic Raion Pouch.
Next, equip the Flashlight from your inventory, and you’re good to go.
