Out of Diablo 4’s item rarity levels, the very top of the heap is “Unique,” surpassing even legendary. On top of that, some unique items are rarer than others. Blizzard has taken to calling the very rarest “Uber Unique” items. Take the Harlequin Crest, for example. It’s an item that has been found in Diablo 1 and 2, and makes a return for 4. But only for extremely lucky players.
So, to immediately reiterate what I just said, the drop rate on the Harlequin Crest is extremely low. Somewhere in the realm of 1-2%. Even with the information I’m about to give you, there’s no guarantee you’ll ever see one. The Uber Unique items are considered to be the pinnacle of loot. Once you have one, you know you’ve scraped the ceiling.
As of Season 4, however, it has become slightly easier to get your hands on Uber Unique items. While these initially only dropped at Tier 3 (Nightmare) and above and from enemies level 85+. Now, you just need to be fighting against enemies level 55+, but you’ll also need to be at maximum item power level.
However, the best way to gain Uber Unique loot is by repeating the Echo of Duriel or the new Echo of Andariel boss fights via summoning.
On top of that, you can now summon Tormented versions of Echoes that appear as level 200 bosses. They cost more to summon, but they are more likely to drop extremely rare loot.
Writing that out makes it sound easy, but obviously, that’s not the case.
Also new to Season 4 is Resplendent Sparks, a new crafting resource. If you have four of these, you can combine them to create any time of Uber Unique loot you want. These aren’t particularly easy to come by, either, and are most reliably obtained by salvaging… Uber Unique gear. However, there are sometimes seasonal rewards where you can get Resplendent Sparks. At the time of writing, if you max out your reputation with the Iron Wolf Faction. You can do that on multiple characters and then craft your Uber Unique item, but that is incredibly time consuming.
But regardless of how you choose to try and get the Harlequin Crest, you’re likely to only be able to make the attempt at a very high level already.
