The Sand Barioth is a strong mutation in Monster Hunter Stories 3, and unlocking it will be a true test.
A mutation of the Barioth species, you’ll need to reach the Sereathis region to unlock the creature. Moreover, you’ll need to repel the Invasive Khezu, and this guide will tell you what needs to be done.

How to repel the Invasive Khezu in Monster Hunter Stories 3
To find the Khezu, you need to reach the Serathis location and reach the spot marked on the image below. To repel the Khezu, you have to reach the win condition. To do so, you need to stop the Khezu’s Wyvernsoul. When it hits you, it will reset your progression in the fight.
To repel the Invasive Khezu, you’ll need to deal with the attack five times without breaking the sequence.
- For the first one, you’ll need to win the Head-to-Head with a Double Attack (either from your or with one of your monstie) while focusing on the Power affiliation.
- Keep repeating the double attacks to prevent it from doing damage and regenerating its Wyvernsoul.
- Once you’ve repeated this for a few turns, your screen will show that the Khezu has Learning Complete, and it will prepare for a special attack.
- When the Khezu changes to the Invading state, you’ll need to Speed Double Attack since it will do Power attacks instead.
Once the Khezu is about to land its special attack after Learning Complete, use a Double Kinship attack. This will make the Khezu skip a turn, and it will flee while leaving behind the den. You can pick up a Barioth egg from the den.

Obtaining the Sand Barioth mutation is really easy. All you need to do is for your Barioth to hatch, and then release it in an area. You’ll find more Barioth eggs from the region. Hatch a few more and release them to raise the Barioth’s Ecosystem Rank to A. Once done, you’ll unlock the Sand Barioth mutation and find the special eggs in Barioth dens (depending on your luck).
