A traveler always needs to get paid.

To play as the heroes of Genshin Impact, every Traveller needs to acquire a hefty sum of Primogems for Wishes. They can also be used to get new weapons for the characters of HoYoverse’s open-world RPG, and the currency quickly adds up for free banner rolls for those who stay on top of in-game collecting.

Easiest ways to get Primogems in Genshin Impact

Primogems in Genshin Impact are the most valuable resource, so it can be valuable to receive them quickly. The first way is to be on the lookout for promotional codes from the publisher Hoyoverse. When it releases a new video teasing the next update, it releases codes that redeem around 100 Primogems each. They may also share some on social media. Enter these in the game, and you’ll get a head start.

Second, you can acquire Primogems by checking your mail in-game. Hoyoverse regularly offers this in-game currency for celebrating events like anniversaries, scheduled maintenance, or gameplay issues.

The third easy way to receive Primogems in a hurry is the Twitch Drops system. If you connect your Hoyoverse and Twitch accounts, you can redeem this currency and others like Mora in-game for just watching a streamer playing Genshin Impact.

How to get Primogems in-game

Now we’ve tackled the near hassle-free ways to get Primogems in Genshin Impact, let’s cover the basic strategies of how to receive them in-game. First, you’ll want to finish quests. They display what rewards you’ll get in the quests menu. You also have your daily commission quests that offer 10 Primogems each. If you finish all four, you’re rewarded an additional 20.

While we’re looking at the guidebook in Genshin Impact, head over to the Experience tab. If you complete all of the missions listed for the Chapter, you’ll gain more Primogems. For example, in Chapter 8, if you finish the 13 quests displayed, you’ll gain 150 Primos, in addition to other resources like 45,000 Mora.

After this, tackle the Spiral Abyss. It’s an area in Mondstadt that offers waves of enemies in an arena-style setting. If you complete these challenges, you’ll gain a mighty amount of Primogems for your trouble. It can be tough, however, so watch out!

Explore the open world

Genshin Impact encourages you to explore and see the beautiful world of Teyvat. If you find Teleport Waypoints, Statues of the Seven, and new dungeons, you’ll get 2-10 Primogems for each one you encounter. Random chests (that are often unlocked by defeating foes in the area or finishing a puzzle) can also be opened for rewards. It works similarly to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild if you’ve played that. Your Primogems can rack up quickly using this method.

Collecting resources for the Statues also helps. Culuses within each region are hovering around the open world. If you collect enough of them, you’ll get Primogems, valuable items, and sometimes a stat boost. For example, Anemoculuses in Mondstadt provide more stamina.

Additionally, there are challenges that, if you conquer, reward you with chests. They have a red shining crest hovering over a platform. Interact with them to start the one-minute or so challenges.

Take part in events

There is usually a big event occurring somewhere in Teyvat, and if you finish its content, you can be rewarded handsomely. In February 2024, for example, there was the Receiver of Friends From Afar event. The traveller and Paimon were tasked with creating meals for Wangshu Inn guests. By creating the dish through the fun mini-game and watching the cutscenes, it offered up to 240 Primogems.

Test Runs are always happening too. They let you play as the characters on the current banner against a wave of enemies and then you’ll be given 40 Primos for trying two of them. Always keep a lookout on the Events page.

The last resort for Primogems in Genshin Impact

If you’re desperate for Primogems fast, you can of course buy them too. Genesis Crystals are bought to give you Primogems for wishes. They scale from 60 to 6,480. However, you can double the crystals for your first purchase of each offering. The bonuses pop back up every month or so. By the way, every Genesis Crystal makes up one Primogem.

Lastly, there’s the Blessing of the Welkin Moon. For $5, you’ll get 300 Genesis Crystals right off the bat and then 90 Primogems each day you log in for 30 days. This adds up to 2700 Primos. It’s a good value, especially if you log in every day.
